Mettal Infrastructure completes cable protection project in East Ham

Mettal Infrastructure, in partnership with Technotrack Engineering, has announced the s completion of its CAM Anglia Reactive Framework project, providing critical High Voltage (HV) Assessment and Cable Protection services.

The CAM Anglia Reactive Framework project involved the following works:

  • Supply of an HV Assessor to conduct a comprehensive HV Assessment.
  • Composition of the HV Assessment report.
  • Supply of an HV Competent person to oversee the works and assist with cable protection.
  • Provision of all necessary plant, tools, and resources for HV Cable protection works.

Mettal Infrastructure’s client, J Murphy, was undertaking high-level repair works on a bridge deck. The HV cable route directly beneath the bridge posed a potential risk of damage from falling debris during the repair process.

Mettal Infrastructure’s project team provided fully enclosed shuttering to protect the cable route from any potential damage.

The team’s in-depth knowledge of the area and their ability to provide a comprehensive solution in collaboration with Technotrack Engineering made them the preferred choice. They offered expertise in managing all rail system lineside cabling, ensuring a seamless execution of the project.

One of the significant challenges faced during the project was working around a raised cable route and the client’s access tower. Despite these obstacles, Mettal Infrastructure successfully delivered the project on time and within scope.

Discussing the project’s completion, Glenn Clark, Managing Director of Mettal Infrastructure, said:

“We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the CAM Anglia Reactive Framework project. Our team worked diligently to ensure the protection of vital HV cable routes, enabling our client to carry out their repair works efficiently and safely. This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering innovative solutions while overcoming challenges to meet our client’s needs.”
